senior Appoints at Edelweiss

Edelweiss, the Mumbai-headquartered integrated investment bank, announced four senior management appointments for its Investment Banking and Corporate Functions.



Mr. V. S. Narayanan joins as Senior Vice President in the Equity Capital Markets vertical within the Investment Banking practice. Mr. Narayanan is a professional with over three decades of experience in the financial sector, 15 years of which has been in executing IPO mandates. He began his career in ICICI Ltd. before moving to companies like DSP Financial Consultants Ltd. (now DSP Merrill Lynch Ltd.) and UTI Securities. Prior to joining Edelweiss, his last assignment was as Head Operations – Investment Banking with Religare Capital Markets Ltd.



Sarju Simaria has come on board as Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance at Edelweiss Group Level. A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Simaria, during his 12 year stint in the Capital Market and Mutual Fund Industry, has been involved in various aspects of finance and operations besides setting up new lines of business for his earlier organizations. His earlier assignments included Chief Financial Officer at Sun F&C Asset Management Company and Vice President and Head Operations at AIG Global Asset Management Company (India) Pvt. Ltd. He will focus in the areas of finance, operations, audit, taxation and related statutory compliance matters at Edelweiss Group Level.



Shailendra Maru has been appointed Vice President, Investor Relations and will be responsible for overall investor relations programme of the company. Prior to joining Edelweiss, Mr. Maru was Deputy General Manager at State Bank of India where he also managed investor relations for the bank for over four years. Apart from his extensive background in commercial banking, including a four year stint in USA, he also brings to the table an ability to cultivate important relationships with institutional investors and research community worldwide.



Rathin Lahiri joins Edelweiss as Vice President, Marketing at the corporate level. During his 16 years long career he has worked in the Consumer and Financial Services Industry with organizations like UB Group, Unilever India, Kotak Mahindra & UTI Mutual Fund. He has rich experience in building consumer brands, mining consumer insights, sales & distribution, online marketing and building a consumer centric organization. Prior to joining Edelweiss he was Chief Marketing officer (CMO) at eBay India.
